jQuery Plugin - Page Peel
I’ve updated things and released a NEW VERSION of jQuery Page Peel. go there
I decided to create my first jQuery plugin the other day when implementing a page peel ad on our companies website. Feel free to download and use it, tell me what you think, and post back anything you might want added in the future.
To view the Page Peel plugin in action, click here.
To download the Page Peel plugin, click here. (includes sample file)
Please feel free to leave a post if you have any questions or requests for future functionality. I hope to keep growing this plugin so it encompasses every possible attribute.
Here’s a screenshot of what the plugin accomplishes:

In Linux don’t work it. I’m using Firefox and Ubuntu.
I don’t have a Linux machine to test it on. Does basic jQuery and Flash work on Linux boxes?

Works on my Ubuntu Linux
(Firefox 3, original Flash Plugin)
but laggs a little, like all the other flash-apps do!
Busted in FF3 on OS X, too. Looks fine in safari.
More importantly, it looks as if you’re building off the work of a previous author without abiding by his license..
Am I wrong?

Wasn’t able to test in an OSX environment either. Any ideas as to why it would be different on OSX FF3 and PC FF3?
As far as basing off the work of a previous author, you mean several previous authors, correct? This isn’t a new thing and has been done quite a few times quite a few different ways. I actually hadn’t even seen that website. Our company needed a solution for the page flip and after not finding a jQuery option, I created one. From scratch. Hopefully that’s not treading on anyone’s territory. I’m just trying to offer a jQuery solution with as many options as I can.

I dont have Linux or MacOS either, but could it be your use of embed that might be causing an issue? Embed is somewhat deprecated in favor of object. Just a thought.
Great post, thanks!
broken on pc firefox 3.0.5
I hate to ask this, but do you have Flash Player installed? I’m on PC, both XP and Vista with FF 3.0.5 and it works…
Demo gets error with FF3
here output:
“Error: $ is not defined

Line: 15″
maybe jquery can’t be loaded properly !
Hmm… just looked at it and I’m not throwing any errors. FF3.0.5
